RECEIVING CLERK

The Receiving Clerk is responsible for verifying and processing incoming shipments at our warehouse, including unloading deliveries, inspecting items for damage, comparing shipment details to purchase orders, updating inventory records, and ensuring the accuracy and completeness of received items.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Processes and documents all shipments according to departmental policies and procedures.
  • Unloads packages from incoming trucks.
  • Unpacks, counts, and verifies packages according to work orders and invoices.
  • Detects problems and reports information to appropriate personnel.
  • Arranges timely delivery of shipments received to appropriate departments.
  • Receives, stocks, and organizes inventory while ensuring efficient warehouse optimization.
  • Maintains accurate records and assists in inventory control.
  • Processes damaged or defective goods for return.
  • Operates a forklift and hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from the shipping-and-receiving platform to the storage or work area.
  • Assembles office furniture, as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
  • Requires a consistent and dependable work history, ideally reflecting 3-5 years of tenure with each previous employer.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years warehouse and/or receiving experience, preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Ability to freely access all areas of the warehouse and stand for long periods of time; ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects.
  • Able to tolerate daily exposure to outside weather conditions (hot and cold).
  • Ability to calculate basic mathematics.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to enforce and maintain quality control and safety regulations.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with coworkers, vendors, and customers.
