The Sales Director is a critical leadership role focused on driving revenue growth and expanding market share within the fuel management industry. This individual will create and execute strategic sales plans, lead a high-performing sales team, and foster strong relationships with key clients. As a strategic and results-oriented leader, the Sales Director will passionately advocate for Syntech’s products and services, while coaching sales representatives to develop tailored, impactful solutions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Strategic Sales Planning
    • Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to achieve and exceed revenue targets.
    • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify growth opportunities.
    • Keep executive leadership informed on market dynamics, market needs and large opportunities.
    • Forecast sales projections and develop realistic sales budgets.
  • Team Leadership and Management
    • Train and mentor a high-performing sales team.
    • Set clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance reviews.
    • Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.
    • Motivate and inspire the team to achieve goals.
  • Sales Execution and Performance
    • Coach and develop the sales team skills from lead generation to closing deals.
    • Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics and implement corrective actions, as needed.
    • Develop and maintain a robust sales pipeline.
    • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of sales activities and results.
  • Client Relationship Management
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key distributors.
    • Identify and cultivate new business opportunities.
    • Represent the company at industry events and conferences.
    • Resolve complex client issues and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Collaborate with marketing, product development, customer support, engineering and other departments to align sales efforts with overall company goals.
    • Communicate effectively with senior management regarding sales performance and market trends.
    • Present sales reports and strategy to executive level staff.
  • CRM Management
    • Ensure proper usage and maintenance of the company’s CRM system.
    • Utilize CRM data to analyze sales performance and identify areas for improvement.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, or other related field; will consider relevant years’ experience in lieu of degree.
  • 10+ years of progressive sales experience, with a proven track record of success in a leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of sales principles and techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and implement successful sales strategies.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 50%, as needed.
  • Proven ability to manage high-performing sales teams meeting revenue targets.
  • Strong strategic, analytical, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM software (Microsoft Dynamics).
  • Experience with capital equipment sales is highly desirable.
