SENIOR BUSINESS SYSTEMS ANALYST

As a member of our Operations team, the Senior Business Systems Analyst (BSA) plays a key role in serving as a technological support liaison between internal stakeholders and customers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Analyzes user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate or improve existing systems and review computer system capabilities, workflow and scheduling limitations.
  • Corresponds with clients and project leaders to identify and evaluate end-user and business requirements.
  • Creates and facilitates efficient and cost-effective solutions and analyzes system specifications to meet business requirements.
  • Ensures clean and accurate documentation that include detailed business requirements, client requirements and technical specifications; prepares reports which may be used in professional publications.
  • Documentation responsibilities encompass researching, organizing, writing, and editing documentation/reports, and processing use cases and design policies in documents and online mediums intended for internal departmental use and customers.
  • As primary point of contact, establishes ongoing communication with customers, various teams, and stakeholders; provides updates on the status of production to include timelines, issues, and resolutions.
  • Performs project scope and feasibility analysis; collaborates with the project management team to prioritize deliverables and negotiate product functionalities.
  • Obtains key input from enterprise architecture teams and identifies solution interdependencies.
  • Engages with knowledge workers to incorporate usability and user interface needs when designing systems.
  • Creates designs for technical solutions to resolve business problems and test components of new systems for efficiency.
  • Assesses the risks of various solutions and prioritizes competing business demands.
  • Coordinates project delivery by participating in design reviews and walk-throughs to communicate systems designs and validate proposed solutions.
  • Partners with development and analytic teams to provide reporting on software solutions.
  • Routinely tests software patches; assists with new releases and user acceptance testing.
  • Researches use of existing software and hardware systems; recommends viable solutions for systems improvement and efficiency.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative, business, or other related field of study (e.g., Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science); will consider relevant years’ experience in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Functional, Data, or Business Systems Analyst; will consider relevant technical experience.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Demonstrate strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve issues quickly and independently.
  • Ability to lead system level requirements and specification efforts.
  • Solid skills in working with relational databases.
  • Able to work within a team environment.
  • Ability to lead teams in Agile software development methodology and release processes.
  • Exhibit excellent knowledge of documentation and requirements management tools such as Confluence, Jira, and Microsoft Office.
