DEVOPS ENGINEER

The DevOps Engineer plays a critical role in maintaining and enhancing Syntech’s CI/CD infrastructure and release workflows. This position supports the full software development lifecycle by contributing to feature development and expanding existing product capabilities. In addition to resolving issues reported by internal QA teams and external customers, the DevOps Engineer also provides technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members, helping to foster a culture of quality, reliability, and continuous improvement.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Recommend and implement improvements to CI/CD pipeline and infrastructure.
  • Maintain and document CI/CD processes.
  • Add features to existing products and maintain software artifacts.
  • Debug software to identify and resolve application issues.
  • Test software, associated hardware, and systems.
  • Establish and follow development methodology and DevOps best practices.
  • Participate in and lead analysis and design sessions.
  • Assist with research efforts to support engineering initiatives and stakeholder requests.
  • Evaluate issues and feature requirements to develop and propose solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance and contribute to framework, tooling, and architectural decisions.
  • Support operational functions such as build, deployment, and production support efforts.
  • Stay current on industry trends and continuously update job knowledge by studying state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques, and computing equipment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other related field, preferred; will consider relevant years of experience in lieu of degree.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD tools and processes.
  • Familiarity with Agile software development methodology and release processes preferred.
  • Working knowledge of web frameworks and deployment tools.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work within a team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
